Quick Start

Everything you need to know to get into your first race in under 5 minutes.

⚠️ First-time host? Read this before your first race: Vehicle System → ⚠️ READ THIS FIRST — The Two Systems That Pick What Players Drive. It explains the single most common source of "why did my race do that?" confusion. Vehicles Mode (race creation) vs Vehicle Classes (race room) — they sound similar but do completely different things.

Your First Race — Checklist

  • Bind open_race to a convenient key
  • Open the Race Menu and browse the lobby for an open race
  • Or create your own race: select a track → configure → Create Race
  • In the race room, click Choose Vehicle
  • Wait for the countdown — then drive!

Tips for New Players

  • The race HUD on the right side of the screen shows your position, lap, checkpoint, time, and gaps to other drivers. When Slipstream is enabled, green chevrons pulse when you're in a draft. A timed-race countdown chip appears top-right in Timed Race mode.
  • Press F3 (or your raycinrace binding) during a race to open the in-race menu for spectator mode, race info, or to quit.
  • The blue flag (🚩) in your HUD means a faster driver is approaching from behind to lap you — move aside when safe.
  • After finishing, a 🏆 podium animation slides up showing the top 3 finishers with gold / silver / bronze medals before the scoreboard appears.
  • A ★ rating prompt appears a few seconds after the race ends — rate the track to help others find the best ones.
  • Personal bests are automatically recorded for every track you race on.
